Your day trip from Marrakech to Essaouira begins with an early departure, taking you through the scenic Haouz plains toward the coast. As you travel, you'll stop in the village of Chichaoua for a quick coffee break and a chance to stretch your legs. Continuing on, the journey passes through an Argan tree forest. Here, you'll visit a cooperative run by local women to see how Argan oil, Morocco's "liquid gold," is produced-a fascinating insight into a traditional craft that plays a significant role in the local economy.
Once you arrive in Essaouira, the day is yours to explore this vibrant seaside city. Start by wandering the bustling fishing port, home to iconic blue boats and impressive fortifications from the city's Portuguese past. The Medina, with its UNESCO-listed status, invites exploration with its unique blend of art galleries, artisan workshops, and historic landmarks like the Skala de la Ville, an old fortress overlooking the Atlantic. The Medina's layout is straightforward, making it easy to navigate independently. As you stroll, visit Bab Laalouj, one of the main city gates, and the Mellah, or Jewish Quarter, where remnants of the city's multicultural heritage remain.

1 hour walk and run in the dunes on the beach of Essaouira. Very good experience with well trained horses and a very friendly and attentive trainer. Go Marrakech Desert Trips organized our pick up from the city center. Great!

Very pleasant day in Essaouira, a magnificent port city with its souks and beaches with a very warm population. Very touched by their kindness. The trip went wonderfully with Abderrham, punctual, very friendly and we were very well received. Very good driving and music all along which allowed us not to find the journey too long and to bring a little conviviality.
